Win Mayor of Casterbridge videos and DVDs

We've got 5 videos and 5 DVDs of this production of Thomas Hardy's classic novel, The Mayor of Casterbridge to give away.

The new production, which includes such well known actors as Ciaran Hinds, Jodhi May, James Purefoy, Juliet Aubrey and Polly Walker, was broadcast on during the festive period and will now be available in shops to buy from the 19th of January.

The story begins when Michael Henchard, a farm worker, auctions his wife Susan and baby daughter in a moment of drunken madness at a Country Fair.
Years later, Susan and her daughter Elizabeth-Jane return, seeking Michael in Casterbridge when he has become a rich and respected member of Wessex Society. Driven by need to make amends, he re-marries Susan but in a tragic twist of fate, she dies, but not before leaving a letter containing a shocking revelation.

As a romance blossoms between Elizabeth Jane and the Mayor's charismatic business manager Fanfare (James Purefoy), Henchard becomes convinced that the young man is determined to destroy him and order Elizabeth-Jane never to see him again, setting a chain of events in motion that will change their lives forever…
