Known for his great height (6ft 6ins in his socks), Tom Moody made an impact during his playing career at Worcestershire from 1991 to 1999.

Among the highlights during this period was the club's Natwest Trophy win in 1994, beating Warwickshire by eight wickets.

Being particularly tall could have made Moody vulnerable to short bowling, but he turned his height to his advantage, making a name as a powerful batsman.

His test debut for Australia came in 1989 against New Zealand - Moody only picked up eight caps, but contributed to his country's one-day World Cup win in 1999 and achieved a test average of 32.57 as a middle-order batsman.

Recurrent back injury forced Moody to retire in 2001 after winning Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2000.

He went on to coach and direct cricket at Worcestershire, as well as appearing as an analyst on TV.
