About This Event

Celebrating the music of a modern New York, the Heritage Orchestra and conductor Jules Buckley present their take on the sound of NYC today.

‘New York: Sound of a City’ perfectly encapsulates the unexpected and unusual pairing of unique voices and undisputed talents coming together to reflect the City that Never Sleeps. Special guests – Hercules & Love Affair, Sharon Van Etten, serpentwithfeet and Nitty Scott – couldn’t be less like one another sonically, but they share much in common artistically. In a relatively short time, all four acts joining Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra for this unique occasion have proven themselves to be boundary-pushers, mixing sounds and genres and finding new paths, even when the music they’re making might not lead them to success in conventional terms.

There will be no interval

Broadcast on Â鶹Éç Four on Friday 10 August
