Jewels in the crown

Formerly known as Emerald, Sapphire and Gold, this band hailing from South Bronx have created an immeasurable impact on the funk landscape.

Led by the Scroggins sisters, their first release - a 7" of You're No Good - was released by the hugely influential Factory Records. A rocky career followed with many breaks, line-up changes and reformations, but their music has always remained in the ether with samples popping up across tracks by Wu Tang Clan, Gang Starr and Liars to name a few.

Now back for a final UK tour and a new album in November, Glastonbury is the chance to see these gems of the dance scene while you still can.
