Expect many magic numbers

For many De La Soul are defined by their oustanding debut 1989 album 3 Feet High and Rising with its joyous wordplay and cutting-edge sampling all infused with a wit and humour that has largely gone missing in hip hop's evolution. While it is undoubtedly a genre-defining masterpiece it would be a shame and a gross mistake to see De La Soul's subsequent releases as somehow below par. Earlier this year they made their first six albums available for free for a 25 hour period and reported that this led to two million downloads.

Expect a rip-roaring ride through the trio's extensive back-catalogue and plenty of 'throw your hands up in the air and wave them like you just don't care' moments. Not to be missed.
