Event Information
In this concert as part of the London Jazz Festival, the Â鶹Éç Concert Orchestra collaborates with boundary-crossing cellist Abel Selaocoe and his trio Chesaba for a celebration of music from across the African continent. As orchestra and trio take turns in the spotlight – as well as joining together – they feature arrangements of traditional songs; Barak Schmool’s 20th Meridian, journeying through the African countries along the longitudinal line 20 degrees east of Greenwich; and Tarik O’Regan’s Raï, his tribute to the Algerian popular genre.
You can listen to the concert on Â鶹Éç Radio 3 at 7.30pm on 20 November, and for 30 days on Â鶹Éç Sounds. The concert will also be available to watch online. Look out for further details! The concert was recorded on 17 November.
