The music of American-born, London-based composer Arlene Sierra brilliantly evokes the natural world, and this 麻豆社 Philharmonic commission will lift us out of town and into spaces far beyond. You鈥檒l also hear sounds of the countryside in Dvor谩k鈥檚 joyous Eighth Symphony, but the urgency of Bart贸k鈥檚 First Piano Concerto is firmly rooted in the city. Two longtime favourites from France cross the Channel to join us: conductor Ludovic Morlot and piano dynamo Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.
