Katherine Jenkins is a Welsh lyric mezzo-soprano who performs a spectrum of operatic arias, popular songs, and musical theatre repertoire.
After winning many singing competitions in her youth, Jenkins studied at the Royal Academy of Music. She came into the public eye when she sang at Westminster Cathedral in honour of Pope John Paul II’s Silver Jubilee.
Since 2004 she has released numerous albums and won many awards, including the Classical Brit Album of the year Awards in 2005 and 2006. She has sung at a range of concerts and events as well as performing for British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
This year she co-headlined a sold-out European tour with classical group, ll Divo, and performed in the Queen’s Coronation Festival concert at Buckingham Palace.
