Concert Information

Having previously performed with the Â鶹Éç Philharmonic at the 2016 Â鶹Éç Ten Pieces Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, the Able Orchestra is marking its Manchester debut with a very special early evening concert.

A spectacular collaboration with musicians from the Â鶹Éç Philharmonic and The Hallé, this early evening concert includes a brand new piece by Manchester-born composer Oliver Vibrans - specially commissioned by Orchestras Live for this ensemble.

This evening we also hear Fantastical Worlds with guest beat boxer THePETEBOX who created it in 2018 with Hallé musicians, Bea Schirmer and Chris Emerson.

Both pieces in the programme include a projected digital visual dimension, created and performed by young members of the Able Orchestra - the UK’s only integrated traditional and digital ensemble.

About the Able Orchestra

The Able Orchestra is an inclusive music ensemble comprising young disabled and non-disabled musicians; digital artists and professional orchestral musicians using assistive music technology and acoustic instruments, with the ethos that all members can create and perform on equal terms. Formed in 2015 and co-produced by Orchestras Live and Inspire Youth Arts, Able Orchestra has become a beacon of inclusive musical collaboration and a new kind of orchestra.
