The Â鶹Éç Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Chorus and superb soloists perform Rachmaninov’s The Bells, a colourful choral symphony after Edgar Allen Poe. Tchaikovsky was a major influence on the young Rachmaninov and his great Pathétique symphony, a work Semyon Bychkov conducts with fervent intensity, closes the concert.
