Portico Quartet

Maida Vale 3
Ethereal, absorbing and melancholic are words that rightfully follow the Portico Quartet鈥檚 musical experimentations. From Mercury nominated debut Knee-Deep in the North Sea to the latest self-titled offering, the four-piece famously make use of the Hang, a steel-drum style instrument that鈥檚 achieved cult status, as well as saxophone, double bass and percussion to create their atmospheric sound.
From busking on the South Bank to the career-defining moment when rain forced them to play under a portico, they now take to the hallowed studios of Maida Vale to perform for Gilles Peterson. This jazz boy band are guaranteed to deliver goosebumps as they take us on their adventures in sound.
