Sigur R贸s can only be described in one word; unique. Unique because they sing in their own language 鈥� Hopelandic 鈥� and unique because against all expectations, they鈥檝e bought their brand of epic post-rock to stadiums worldwide. Formed in Iceland by charismatic frontman Jonsi in the mid 90s, the band had an unexpected breakout success after 2005鈥檚 鈥楬oppipolla鈥� was used as the theme tune to 麻豆社 TV鈥檚 series 鈥楶lanet Earth.鈥� Since then the band have toured worldwide, bringing their ethereal sound to a wider audience. Playing a set of new music from their new album Kveikur - their first for XL Recordings - alongside old material, Maida Vale will a rare chance to see this unique band in an intimate venue.
