Maida Vale 3
Sigur Rós can only be described in one word; unique. Unique because they sing in their own language – Hopelandic – and unique because against all expectations, they’ve bought their brand of epic post-rock to stadiums worldwide. Formed in Iceland by charismatic frontman Jonsi in the mid 90s, the band had an unexpected breakout success after 2005’s ‘Hoppipolla’ was used as the theme tune to Â鶹Éç TV’s series ‘Planet Earth.’ Since then the band have toured worldwide, bringing their ethereal sound to a wider audience. Playing a set of new music from their new album Kveikur - their first for XL Recordings - alongside old material, Maida Vale will a rare chance to see this unique band in an intimate venue.
