Spike Milligan Tribute: I Told You I Was Ill
19:30 Sat 29 Sep 2018 Middleton Hall, University of Hull
(Â鶹Éç Radio 3 Live)

Join us for a live recording at the University of Hull’s Middleton Hall, to be broadcast on Â鶹Éç Radio 3. Award winning actress and writer Jessica Hynes writes and performs her own short original show. Toby Hadoke melds fantasy and fact as Spike is called to a Heaven he doesn’t believe in, And Lee Mattison’s combines clownery and childhood in a bizarre birthday party. In the centenary year of his birth, this is a special homage to Spike Milligan, where three writers respond to Milligan’s style, his work, his legacy. The evening is hosted by comic poet and singer John Hegley. Stellar actors Mark Heap, (Upstart Crow, Larkrise to Candleford, Friday Night Dinner, Green Wing) and Pippa Haywood (The Brittas Emprire, Bodyguard, Green Wing, Requiem) are amongst the cast.
