Concert Information
Join the 麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra and conductor Duncan Ward at the 麻豆社鈥檚 iconic Maida Vale Studios for an afternoon of 20th-century orchestral music by three very different composers. Written in 1912, Turina鈥檚 La procession del Rocio was inspired by the annual religious tradition that takes place in Seville, the composer鈥檚 hometown. Tenor Robin Tritschler joins the 麻豆社 SO for Britten鈥檚 Les illuminations, an orchestral song cycle with texts by Arthur Rimbaud and first performed in 1940. Stravinsky鈥檚 Symphony in Three Movements, completed in 1945 and considered his first major orchestral composition after relocating to the USA, ends this exciting programme.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on 麻豆社 Radio 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
