I think its still early days on the 1911 England search. Ancestry have got Wales sorted, just about but not much to search on England yet. It will come soon.

    Chrsitine,

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately it is diificult to find ancestors (especially in Devon) due to a very poor effort by ancestry where for example they have transcribed both under Devon and Devonshire, where in Cornwall the parish is listed as Wall (the last four letters of Cornwall) where a number of parishes (Southwark for example is listed with its last four letters ie Wark) and people who stated which street and parish they were born in are transcribed as being born in Street only and not the parish. In addition people who were born in London do not have the parish transcribed and are stated to be in the UK and not England which is at odds with the rest of the transcriptions outside London.

I would suggest that researchers look at the blog you refer to and researchers comments (currently running at 30) asking for ancestry to re-transcribe the collection. You do get the impression that they have cut corners and do not know that for example Scotland is not a city but a country and the number of places which are (incorrectly) transcribed as counties.
