This is primarily directed to the professional researchers from WDYTYR. What software do you use to record the research for the celebrities you are researching?

The programme makers of WDYTYR don't post here. The people who do are "just" individuals with an interest in family history, both our own and other people's. We work from home and help out with enquiries if we can.
From what I've seen of the PC/laptop screens during various WDYTYR programmes, the researchers use Ancestry (white background, green accents/highlights) and/or Find My Past (white background, blue accents/highlights), which are the two main FH programs available in the UK.
Hope this helps.

The web sites you quote aren't software to record the research. Potential answers might be Microsoft Excel, Google Picasa, Adobe Photoshop, Word, Rootsmagic.
What route do we use to find out the answer from the professional researchers?

So is it family tree building software you're asking about then?
Sorry, but that wasn't clear from your original post.
How can we get an answer from the professional researchers?

How can we get an answer from the professional researchers?Â
Ask a professional researcher. There's plenty to choose from if you Google*.
As I said before, we're just amateurs here, but I'm sure we all have our own personal preferences and experiences. What suits one, won't suit everyone.

* other search engines are available.
As the software Family Tree Maker Logo appears on the title page of the programme WDYTYA, I would imagine they use that.

Martin, this board is only one of a number of message boards hosted by the Â鶹Éç for people to discuss topics of mutual interest. It has no connection with WDYTYA, which has its own website.
When I first joined this board several years ago, there was one member who was a professional researcher, although any help he gave on here was free, otherwise it would be against the Â鶹Éçs rules, but he went to help found anotherm FH forum.
Everyone else on here is an amateur. We sit at home with our computers, and like to use the knowledge we've gained whilst researching our own trees to help other people.
New posters do sometimes think there is a team of 'Â鶹Éç experts' with access to boundless data. If only that were true! There's just us, but we do what we can.
wall to wall are the production makers, google them to ask the query.
they probably have contractual obligations to show the trees in a standard FTM format but very likely each researcher would use whatever software they were comfortable with behind the scenes
I should have added that the programmes are actually made for the Â鶹Éç by a company called 'Wall to Wall'.
I have to ask.....
why is it so important to find out what the software a professional genealogist uses?
If you are concidering that as an occupation then just go with whatever suits you but take care when you present your findings as many formats are under copyright and most professionals copyright their own style of presentation.
Any good FH software can be tweaked to appear whoever you want it to look, but copying someone elses style may overstep the mark.

May I break the news that this board is closing down in two weeks time so the one that the Mormons use is PAF 5 a free one you can download they are the biggest research group of family trees anywhere.
Google for PAF5
Ancestry push their own one called Tree Maker 2011 but will cost
There are many choices out there and you can have a proffesional one done by some online ones by sending your tree to them.
