    Hello all,

You may be interested to know that the long-awaited Search facility has been launched. You can find it on the right hand side of this page.

Initially the search is extended to the last three months only - in order to see what impact that has on the performance of the database, however aim is to increase its scope in the near future.

For those of you interested how/why Search is being launched and how it works you may find these links helpful:

    Cheers

    Andrew

That's great news, also what about an email notification like we had in the good old days on here.

    The Search Does Not Work

It would be brilliant if it did really search the message boards on the History Boards but as it doesnt it is fairly useless.
I have tried more than one dozen threads in the search and none came up.

I guess it will be ok if you want to search for a Â鶹Éç program, but as this search facility is supposed to search the threads then it is not working.

My apologies to Andrew as I have now been able to find the correct search box, as I had been using grease monkeys version of the board which removes all the side of the board where the search box is, and takes away the white glare of the board, however I have just discovered that I can flip between the two types of board, if I need to search.

    Good afternoon Andrew.

I'm having problems with the new bar (Witches Way) thread.

This morning I left a friendly post - which appeared when I posted it - and then went elsewhere (BAP) but when I returned a few minutes later, my post wasn't showing. So I posted it again, only this time, BOTH posts appeared!

Then I wrote another post, apologising for the double-post and it appeared.
But when I went back to it later, it had disappeared - with the first two posts!!!
It seems every time I leave the thread to go somewhere else, when I return my posts have disappeared!

I have posted here several times before with no problems. Please can you explain what is happening?

PS: When I click on the 'subscribe' or 'unsubscribe' link, my posts appear!
