Hi,
Let me first of all say how much i enjoy your weekly gardeners world program.
on this weeks program i was interested to see the heavy duty sack truck used by
Monty to move the large rocks round the edge of the pond.
I would very much appreciate if possible you could provide any details on this truck
and if possible where i may purchase the same truck.
Keep up the good work Monty great to see you back.
Doug
Did you mean to post this on the TV and Radio board? Oooops!
I have a barrow which is of a similar design to that one. This is mine:
Sadly, the red wheel hubs on mine don't look quite smart as Monty's.
A barrow like that is indispensable to anyone who has specimen plants in large pots or tubs. A large pot, full of soil, is extremely dificult to move around by any other means.
You can easily find similar items by Googling for 'architectural plant barrow'.
You can find 'sack trucks' for sale at large DIY stores. But most of those are very flimsy, and little more than toys. They can't cope with the heavy objects that gardeners need to move. The architectural plant barrow is a different beast.
When I used to work on nurseries in the south east, we used to get them from fargro. I think that they deliver.
My OH and I were more interested in what the garden faries would get up to when the camera was turned off.
Sure enough, the pond edging was better placed and the ditch back filled. I wish they would visit my garden.

TBH, I'd been wondering what was happening between shots.
Monty's posh barrow seemed to remain parked, in the same position, at the far left of our view. It didn't seem to move between shots. Even when Monty was positioning stones at the far right of the shot.
TBH, that barrow looked suspiciously new to me too.
Perhaps Monty just looks after his tools a lot more carefully than I do.
After seeing what he gets up to with lawn mowers and blow torches last year, I don't think looking after them carefully as much to do with it. He probably just buys brand new ones, often.

He? Dont you mean we buy him brand new ones, often.
Must be great having TV licence (tax) payers bank rolling your lifestyle and your hobby, and when its all over, a fantastic garden adding £1,000s to the valuation of your property, even if it means only putting a sign up which says"as seen on TV".

I'm buying a suspiciously new brushcutter this week. Shall I post a photo for your comments?
These trolley/trucks are not extravagant garden tools but crucial to good gardening health!
Lots of companies sell them and they are better value than some wheelbarrows
Eg.
80 kilo load one is only £32. We bought ours 24 years ago and they were more expensive then than they are now but we have saved our backs the strain umpteen times. Worth every single penny if you have ever known back pain.

Try your local builders' merchant.
Hi Tim Burr
I agree with you,The referred too pond construction like many other issues on G.W is beyond the capabilty of the average gardener and their pocket.I think the recent edition is removing itself from the real world particularly in these austere times.
I hope Monty is informing the Tax man of his benefits in kind.

MIKE14,
If you don't mind me saying so: rubbish!
By all means have a go at Monty for things that are factually incorrect, but you just seem to want a tenuous way of expressing your envy and making unfounded smears.
Anyone with a bit of nous could do a pond like that single-handed, as I have myself.
