My Husband is now 84 in his prime he could fix anything. He is now struggling to get the upper casing of his old Qualcast lawnmower....
Can anyone help.

Sorry if I am being a bit thick here but what is with the mower that you actually need help with?
Puzzled at the moment
If it is fixed by a bolt, apply shifting oil - or whatever it is called - and leave to soak in. Sometimes a light tap or two with a 'Birmingham Spanner' will help to break any rust which is holding it. Avoid WD40; it is not ideal for the task.
Do you mean that you want to replace the metal housing? It might be an idea to have a look on eBay in that case.
Tom thinks there may be a problem with the electric cable where it joins the base of the machine and he needs to take off the casing to look at it .

Now it makes sense so Bara's advice is the way to go-though far be it from me to advise an 84 year old - but mucking about with an electric cable on a mower may not be the best idea.
I would bit the bullet and take it to the mower repair shop.
Neither would I decry the use of WD40
