hi, ive seen an offer in a newspaper for bulbs...it says they flower from june to september. is it too late to plant them now/soon?. i usually use pots as garden is small.
It is not too late to plant them now/soon.
I have bought some of these offers in the past and been slightly disappointed with the results. Did the offer state the number and variety of the bulbs?
The ones I got from the guardian two years ago wasn't that much to write home about.

hi, it says.....
100 bulbs at half price...so just under a tenner. oh and a free statue.
theres..dwarf gladioli,
tiger mixed flowers,
ranunculi,
chincherinchee
and garden feesias.
and another fiver for postage.
Like all things you get what you pay for-you will definitely get some flowers but do not rely on them 100% as being as good as the pretty picture.
As TDC says, you get what you pay for. These bulbs tend to be the end of stock, so can be small and rather dried up. You might be lucky, but you may also only get a few flowers and a lot of leaves.
I have just been to check, I paid 1.70 for 20 mini gladioli at the GC, I remember freesias were on the same stand. Have you checked out the prices in your local GC?
If I remember correctly there were a few complaints on here last autumn about summer bulbs, they need heat in June to flower and you might like to bear this in mind when you are planning your pots.
