I bought 4 agapanthus bulbs when they arrived the leaves looked good but when I removed them from the pots the roots were wrapped around the pot right up to the top.Should I untangle the roots before planting .I am going to put the 4 into 1 pot.

Soak the whole root ball in water for about an hour before planting and then let them drain. You can then tease them gently out of tehir spralling habit before planting them in their pot. They like to be cramped and also like good drainage so putting all four in one pot will be good. Give them good quality compost with some loam or added grit to open it up. Give them an occasional liquid feed to aid flowering.
