Could anyone tell me the best way to start off non-stop begonia tubers please? In the past I started them off in the airing cupboard but then read that it was best not to start them off in the dark. I have had about twenty on the surface in one of the spare bedrooms and a few have already sprouted but there are no.signs of growth in the rest. I have to say that the ones already sprouting are from last year and the ones which haven't have been bought this year.
Put them in a seedtray of compost, just covering them, then place on a warm windowsill - an airing cupboard is probably too warm. Make sure that they don't dry out - they do need to re-hydrate.
