I had two clumps of ox eye daisy which usually come up each year, no problems. Recently I found one clump had disintegrated completely and the other one was very straggly and unhealthy so I dug them both up. They are growing elsewhere and look fine. My dicentra had new shoots in the autumn but this looks lke it has withered away too as there is no new growth. Lupins have gone also but I know these can be short lived. Is this common or could cat urine be damaging the plants? I spotted one of my feline friends peeing in my flower beds and was wondering if this is harmful? I've tried sprinkling peppercorns to deter him but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, it can - it will burn the plants and potentially kill them if it happens regularly.
