I'm about to start a new vegetable plot. The site is open and sunny with a slight south facing tilt. Which way should I have my rows of veges, North/ South or East/West?
If you plant N/S then the plants will get the sun all day and on both sides. However if you site is open and sunny it shouldn't matter very much.
I would have the rows across the slope to interupt any flow of rain (should we get any) rather than have the rain run off the land down along the rows which would give less resistance and not soak into the ground. But I do think it is a bit of a puzzle. Cheers, Tony.
