Hi All
I bought a trachelospermum jasminoides last summer,
it thrived great throughout the summer months and grew really well,
we have now had a very harsh winter with temperatures as low as -20 overnight,
Unfortunatly i didnt protect it well enough and now many of the leaves have become brown (although there are still many that are green,
is there anything i can do to prevent it from dying completly??
Thanks
Alison - last winter my trachelospermum looked really awful with brown leaves .These eventually fell off and new leaves grew .Wait and see what happens and just trim off any dead bits

Thanks Pam, i'll keep my fingers crossed, is there anything i could do to protect it next winter should it survive? i've seen bubble wrap, wrapped around plants, do you think this would help ?
Bubble wrap has a tendency to sweat - personally I would use a good layer of fleece.I hope your plant is o.k!

I had a new one last year and wrapped it up in fleece tucked in round the trellis and held on with clothes pegs. Although some of the higher leaves look a bit yellowed, the ones nearest the ground look very healthy. My Mum has one in a sheltered courtyard garden and she doesn't cover it at all, but hers looks so very healthy. Just depends on your region I suppose.
