It would take to long to say why but I'm wanting to move a shed .... only about 4ft but it's a tab bit on the large size, without going out to measure, it's 6 by 4 with double doors on the 6ft side. It's by the house and on a hard surface.
I want everyone to say it can be pushed the 4ft after being emptied but when talking to big brother about this the top isn't fixed to the base particularly well and when erected he dead headed the screws so dismantling and moving could be a problem.
Has anyone moved or pushed a shed a few ft and can it be done easily....idea's wellcome...
Drill holes in the base, thread through strong rope or cable, reverse van (with ball hitch) up to the shed attach rope/cable to ball and drop the clutch ! Or if you know anyone who has a big 4 X 4 for the school run with a winch on the front bumper. . . . . .Cheers, Tony.

zoomer,
All you need is four blokes about four feet wide and two crowbars.
Joe
Now come on!!! How did they move the heavy objects in Egypt!!
They lifted one end with crowbars, slid a broom handle or round piece of wood underneath, and pushed the other end. When it was 'balanced' they got another broom handle and slid that underneath at the other end.
You then had the whole shed sitting on 2 broom handles or 'rollers'. All you had to do then was push and as the broom handle slid along push another one underneath.
You effectivley have the shed on rollers and can push it anywhere.
Hope this helps!!!!
What an excellent idea, I would never in a month of Sundays have thought to use broom handles or rollers, so pleased I asked the Q, thanks for the replies.

Just remembered this-did you get it moved?
Not yet, hope to do it over Easter weekend if we get a nice day. I've borrowed a couple of crow bars and the idea is to roll in on round poles.
It was covered in a couple of climbing plants which needed moving first these are now planted out into a bed.
The shed is packed full of stuff which as all needed sorting, so a good day will be needed to move everything out again.
It' won't be as easy as it sounds either, the shed backs onto a wall so I may need to leave it on the rollers once moved up against the house. Fingers crossed it doesn't clapse when moved.
Can you post some before, after, and inbetween photos?
Haven't learnt how to load pics onto the computer yet.
Photo bucket is along way off
Will take some pic's though and try to work out how to load them.
Moved the shed this morning on two tree stakes and it was remarkably easy,
so easy infact we also moved the bike shed. Took 5mins after the shed was emptied. I plan to paint it tomorrow if we get a sunny day.
The birds did well from it too, I nailed a bird house to the top of one of the stakes, drove it into the ground and now have a nice bird table for the sum total of £2.50.
Took some pics but need to find the disc and instructions which came with camera to load onto computer.
One happy gardener
big clap smiley
but we don't have one
so you can have a and some
A big thanks to the Egyptians.
Well done! I was looking forward to seeing how it turned out!
