could any one please tell me how to grow Gladioli, Lupins, Sparaxis, bare with me i know its a shopping list of flowers i'm nearly done. Acidanthera and not forgetting Delphinums. its the after care once they've flowered and faded away i'm most interested in. Do i need to dig the quorns up and store them away over the Autumn and Winter months thank you .
Gladioli and Acidanthera I dig up and store dry. Lupins and Delphiniums stay in the grown and wait for the slugs.
I agree with Kate, plus I would leave Sparaxis in as well.
Regarding Delphs.Lupins & Gladioli look in the alphabetical index here;
Lupins and delphiniums are roots, not corms, and stay in the ground - allow the leaves to die down naturally, then cut them off. Sparaxis will need to be dug up as they are not hardy.
thank you to everyone who replied
and just to complete the confusion.....I leave gladioli in over winter too. (55north).
