Hi Everyone. I need help please! I have just returned from a trip to Madeira and brought back some bulbs to plant in my garden. I was told they were called Belladona by the lady in the market, but have not been able to find any information back here in England. The plant has lily style flowers and the ones I saw where pink/white. Can anyone help with identification, planting and care tips please?
Hi Kath,
Could they be belladonna lilies sometimes known as naked ladies because the flowers come before the leaves. they flower in the autumn.

I thought Belladonna was a professional name for Deadly Night Shade? But I don't think that grows from a bulb! Maggie
I think you will find that the correct name of the bulb is Amaryllis belladonna, also known as the belladonna lilly.
