sweet peas

    Hi, advice needed please. I have 2 trays of sweet peas ,germinated indoors and now approx. 5" high with little nodules coming for more leaves. My questiion is do I now nip them out and how far down do I have to do it and also can I now put them into my unheated greenhouse or will it be too cold for them. Help would be appreciates.Thanks.

    If you want to know anything about sweetpea growing then there is a lot of reading matter on this thread



    They are very hardy annual- so no it is not too cold for them-snip down to just above a leaf-node to encourage branching.

    Take out the top pair of leaves - you should have two or three pairs left.
    Yes, you can put them in your cold greenhouse. Provided that it's not very frosty and you're not in a very cold part of the country, you can start hardening them off come March and plant them out by the end of the month - they are perfectly hardy.
