meadow or not?

    i am probably what might be described as a tidy gardener, i love wild flowers but i like order so i have bought some scented wild flower mix and am sowing under glass when they germinate i want to pot them up and put them out in drifts as am not to keen on bity meadow look. has any one got any views or advice about this.

    I would think carefully about this if you intend to plant them in a bed, as all you will get is leaves. Wild flowers need a very hungry soil, and the average bed is far too rich for them.
    If you intend to plant them in grass, then be aware that you won't be able to cut that grass until July or August, by which time it will be very long and untidy.

    i see what you mean where i want to plant is sand that used to have conifers in dont think there is much left in the soil, thought it might be a nice stop gap untill next year, vegy patch needs some attention in meantime, thanks for advice maybe ill leave a messy bit this year! see if it grows on me!!!!!!!!!!!!
