Sorry to appear a complete idiot, but why have some of last years daffodils, in pots come up "blind"?
Probably because they did not get enough food after they finished flowering last time. If you removed the leaves before they died down completely and/or you did not feed them from when they began flowering with a liquid fertiliser till the leaves withered, then they went hungry.
In many ways Daff's in pots are good only for one season. You would be better planting them out the garden after they have finished and staring again.
