Hi
I need to grow a hedge of 21 feet long, which I will need to maintain at a height of 3-4 feet max
I would prefer evergreen
I know Laurel is a thug, but I have found a more compact slow growing variety called Etna, as per this link
Has anyone here grown this?
Can I please have your suggestions on what I could use, that is fairly easy to maintain at 3-4 feet, that is evergreen?
Many thanks

Yes; easy to grow and at that level needs no attention except an annual trim.

Excellent, thanks Gardda, do you find it to be attractive? I believe the leaves are smaller then common laurel, and more dense , is this correct?
Thanks

I've just got it as part of a concealing hedge so I tend not to notice it, but one year it grew and I was sorry i had it in that position on account of its good looks.
If you have got several of them, very careful choice of another hedging shrub can be hugely rewarding in terms of garden elegance.
I think laurel is quite a large Genre/species
It is not English Laurel
The Genus is quite large
I challenge you to find the exact classification of it!

Getting one which would flower all the way along at that height would be marvellous. This has not flowered at all.
it would be a question of searching in the laurel specialist plantsmen websites.

Thanks Gardda, im not too worried about flowering
Ive been looking online and am considering privet and golden yew as alternatives but to be honest I think im likely to go for Laurel Etna

Can be as good as rhododendron in flower, but probably not at 4' high.
