I doubt this will succeed but here I go. Every time I go to visit a friend in Barcelona I see this fantastically almost ice blue climbing flowers growing along the railway tracks. (I usually go in June July). No idea to ask for a photo because I don't have one. I thought to start with that it was a Clematis of sorts. Later on the trip I spotted what I thought was the same flower on Montjuic and concluded that it might be a blue morning glory. Sadly the photo of that is lost. Trying to remember if the one on Mountjuic had four petals or more of a trumpet shape.
It is a long shot I know but it looks sooo lovely on the railway tracks.

I've seen loads of morning glory growing wild in Spain. On one of my sailing trips there, the cliffs around the anchorage were smothered with it - breathtaking.

Cool thanks. I will buy some seeds next year and try out. I love the colour of them and they seem to grow quite vigorously.

A fair number of Spainish railway embankments are covered with a light blue form of Vinca Minor, which will scramble up trees.

Ah, No I don't think it could be since the flowers are big enough to be seen in a distance. They are quite big blue affairs.

Sounds like morning glory then. Too late I think to sow this season, but do be careful not to sow seeds too early next year, they sulk dreadfully and fairly terminally if they get cold.
