can anyone identify a plant seen growing in a garden which my daughter has requested for her birthday in a fortnight.
It is growing as a half-standard tree about 4 foot high with small green, white and pink leaves with new shoots which are completely pink.
I have had a look at it and cannot identify it although I would say that the leaves are the shape of a spirea.
I know how good you all are at this sort of thing so I wait in hope of a successful response.
sounds like Acer Negundo 'Flamingo'. Have a look at that one.
I am sure that Salino will be right, but it sounded like a lovely small tree I have in a big pot outside my kitchen window. It's a Salix integra "Hakuro-Nashiki". I am probably talking out the back of my head as I am the worst person to give advice on gardening. Try Googling it.
no that's the first one I thought of too until I saw it - thanks anyway

Thank you everyone for all your help - I have bought one today at a small local nursery (at a very reasonable price too) so that's a relief. Birthday present sorted!
