    Hi all,
well the weather here "france dept 23" is forcast stormy for tonight "But the best weather people "the local farmers" have also said the same thing so ive yet a third reason to think its going tobe a storm and it's this,

Ive recieved the order i placed 6 weeks ago for new metal shutters for the windows, and as i opened the packaging to see what ive bought, I thought i'd start with the ground floor window's and go on from there,

As soon as i started this big black cloud started to hang over our house,
Im sure it was daring me to try and do three windows, Ive done two and they both work well and look all country cottage,

They'll keep the bad weather out and also a good security idea.

But any second now im expecting to hear the bang and then the rain followed by winds,

Well at least ive managed to get two window's done and i'll be closing the shutters tonight.

Talking about rain (and as i said the other day Bank holiday) you'll get rain and here it comes.

    Hi Punpun

Not here in the SE I'm afraid. Been promised it this afternoon but all we have had is an overcast sky. Have now just been told that whatever rain there is around will be gone by this evening and it is going to get warmer throughout the rest of the week and by Friday it will be 23, or whatever that is. Wish they would take pity on this old fogey and give it in farenheit. I think that is quite hot!

Are you supposed to be doing jobs like that Punpun ?

I've had rain on an off for the last 24 hours, not thunderous showers but nice and steady and the ground has nicely soaked it up, but did manage to get out and get some plants in just 7 trays left and numerous pots, just as well I love doing the garden.

Just drizzle on Monday for about 3 hours in Hampshire- all this seems to do is dampen the ground- when you remove a little soil quite dry underneath so has done no good at all.
What happened to wet summers - haven't had any proper rain for weeks, but not complaining ,in my first few months of enforced retirement I can spend so much time outside.
Wimbledon a couple of weeks away so dont want any rain then-unless at night!

    Hi TYPOO,
I also live approx 2 or 3 KMS from Aigurande, so we must be neighbours,

As you've said that little down pour last night was welcome (did you manage to turn the P.C off pre the lighting strike???
For those who dont know it wae have a few light/ strikes here and it's a safe bet if one is in the area to pull all plugs out.

A few weeks ago so many people got can't out and those on live box system had problems getting new live box as the local main orange office had run out.

Well its nice to know ive someone who lives here and can understand half the stuff i write about ref france, ie the brico's the brocant's, etc etc.

Nice to hear from you, Regards Punpun.

    Hi Rain,
(say nothing "no im not really supposed to do much for the next 3 months except breath But being a man you tend to just do little bits here and there)

When it comes to wanting a nice cuppa about 8pm it's then i do my east enders bit (acting) and the boss makes the tea.

But a more serious note, Im like you and i really do love the garden and in fact the countryside,

As i write this ive found a new friend "In the barn"
It's a baby sparrow its still got its little yellow beak and it was just sitting on the wheelbarrow saying nothing but looking at me, Its mother was on one of the beam's screaming at her baby "danger danger" but we both now that its no danger from me or my dog, and so a nice sight and one i hope to see tomorrow.

    Regards Punpun

It's so nice isn't it Punpun when you have a family of birds I had 5 families of Blue Tit's sitting on the fence yesterday 4 families with1 chick and the last with 2 all fully feathered they are so sweet, also, have 6 families of Dunnock and 5 families of House Sparrow all sitting on the same fence getting food from the fat balls and seed out of the feeders and I also have a very friendly Blackbird that will allow me into the garden while he's in it, very kind of him, he and his mrs brings his 2 chicks with him who are as big as him, he did have 3 at one time maybe the local Kestrel got it.

    Hi Rain,
First of all "How come you gotaway with saying the birds name Bl-- t--'-
When i did that a while ago it was removed, "like i was some sort of nasty person for using the T- -'

But they do say what goes round comes round and it's people like you that feed the birds all year round that are now getting the come rounds bit and im really pleased you enjoy these little creatures as much as you do,

Ive said a few times when im in my garden' world war three & four' could be going hammer and tongs " I wouldnt know about " and as for animals again ive made no secrete about it "i prefer animals to a lot of people ive met in my life"

As long as you care both for and show understanding, they"ll trust you.

Not everyone would agree, some may think the likes of us are as near to daft as you can get, ? But we know, what we know, and thats enough for me and all the animals around here.

(I still cant understand how you got away with the blue - - - thing,)
    Enjoy your chat,
    Good night Punpun

Maybe it was the capital "T" that made the difference, after all it is the name of a bird! I do have a dog and 3 cats as well and like you I prefer animals to some humans they are not 2 faced like humans they either like you or they dont the only problem is it's a one way conversation with them.

haha, we've probably met in JJ's!! Yes got laptop/telly off at the first rumble. Managed to work in the polytunnel hier cos it was cooler, usually just a quick dash in and out, tied up my melons, and started saving net bags to support them. Off to water said polytunnel, then French lessons, so not a lot going on in the garden to-day. How long have you been gardening in France? We've been here 3 years, but the first year was doing the house up. Am still finding my feet about when to sow stuff, had it down to a fine art in UK, but am struggling to get my timings right here. And as for Bricos, we were never out of them for the first 2 years!! lol Offy windy to-day. Have a good un. Regards Typhoo

We've been in this house 6 this september and like you we've been doing it up and between our own D.I.Y. & having verious work men in for the past few years on and off, it's been all go.

The house we're in had'nt been lived in for 25 years and the garden as it is now was left un worked for even longer so you see the task trying to get it back to anything like a garden, But im pleased to say it's coming along fine.

like you we had our garden in the uk and it was my pride and joy, infact it was the garden that sold the house really, just about everyone who viewed the house fell in love with the garden and work shop.

Ref JJ'S! We've never been in there, we're not great pub people, use to be years ago, but not these days.

Well ive just poped indoors to check the pc and now its back outside.
    Be good
    Regards Punpun.
