Hi
About two years ago we bought a new home, but because we wanted to wait before things picked up financially we've left our garden to the last really. It is a rather wide garden with a lawn (well previously a field, so they left the grass insitu). Haven't got the measurements to hand at the moment.
Has anyone any ideas on how to break up the width so as to allow the eye to go forward I suppose if that makes sense. I will see if I can get some photos if that would help!
You need to concentrate on diagonal lines to make the garden appear deeper.
They did a design feature for short and wide recently on Beechgrove Garden which is a Scottish production for Â鶹Éç up north. You can see the factsheets here:-
You need the one from the 25th of April.
Thanks Obbelix.
There's also some ideas here. Click on the photos to get a bigger picture -
You could also look at How to be a Gardener on this site. Both parts are interesting and full of useful info about the how, where and why of planting success. Part 2 covers design in more depth and should give you some ideas.
