do you grow this , is it any good , i have seen it in the nurserys , but never in the gardens a round here ,
I don't have Buphthalmum salicifolium, but I do grow Buphthalmum speciosum. Both plants are known by the name 'yellow ox-eye', though they are different plants.
Buphthalmum speciosum is an excellent plant. It has a long and early flowering period, and is an excellent plant for bees and butterflies. Buphthalmum speciosum will also grow well on clay soil, which is an important factor for me.
Buphthalmum speciosum is a big plant, architectural, and robust. I suspect that salicifolim might be a more refined variety. Speciosum is very easy to raise from seed, and flowers in the first season from an early sowing (it's a bit late now).
