    Hi all,
Once again a really nice day weather wise here "In france"
Our english friends who have a holiday home arrived around 3pm, and couldnt wait to settle down after their 16 hours trip from Cardiff,

They come every year and every year for the first 3 days they are like headless chickens running around, but by the time monday comes and they attend their first brocante (car boot sale) they'll have fallen into the french way of never running when you can walk, & have at least two hour mid day meal times
& After the meal have a nice rest in the sun and think about how nice it is to just relax, and maybe do a little in the veg patch later when the sun goes down? followed by a late evening walk down the lane's.

Ive been sitting in the garden listening to the birds settling down for the night and then watching a hedgehog walking across the lawn,

The gardens looking good and after the lawn weed & feed i applied a few days ago you cans see the grass is greener and the weeds are a sad black colour,
Unlike most people im hoping for a little night rain to help water in all the goodness in the lawn feed.

Except for "her indoors" telling me that the writer of only fools and horse's had died, ive had no contact of the real world, (It's sad anyone shouldnt get to their retirement age, " he was 64")

I can honestly say when im in the garden time is of little importance to me,
Im in a world of my own we're no one gets mugged, rapped or stabbed,

The music is provided by the birds and the knowing this part of gardening is free is another bonus.

It makes little difference the size or the location your garden is in or the job you do, Take "Dave" out of chaz and Dave or Noddy holden out of the pop group slade and mr clapton, they all have allotments and when you think of the life style they've lived on the stage etc you just wouldnt expect such people to want and have and enjoy gardening.

So maybe we're not such an odd crowd of people after all !

Ive come to the end of yet another day spent in the garden "be it only sitting around for most of it" but i still enjoyed the friuts of my labour from months gone,

Who needs crime, or fooling yourself fame and money are everything?
Those pop stars ive listed above didnt.

    Have a nice evening
    regards Punpun.

    Evening Punpun

For the past two days, all I have done in the garden is sit and enjoy the beautiful sun. It has been really hot, too hot for me to garden.

Like you say, you sit there, just looking and thinking of what you might do. I can sit for ages watching the fish just swim around. The leader is now a large white one with orange marks, after the sad demise of a large gold one last year. None of the others eat until he has done so and the next to follow suit are 3 of the 5 goldfish.

    I love my garden.

    Hi Kit,
As a lad back in Liverpool, we had a visit now & then from the ragman,
He"d have a handcart and if you gave him old rags etc he'd give you a goldfish in a plastic bag,

Well one day me and my friend who lived opposit, gave the ragman all the washing of me mums line and my mate did the same from his mums line.

Anyway his mum came running over and told my mum what i'd done,

Me mum "all 5feet in her high heels" went down to this huge ragman almost put the gold fish down his throat and grapped all her washing off his cart and brought it back into our kitchen,

As she unfolded all this washing she found she had a table cloth she didnt have before,

SHowing it off to my friends mum, silence was followed by "That's my table cloth!
She didnt know her son had given all her weekly washing away.

    (I called that fish "BOB" and he would sail around the sink in silence miming his name BOB;

Just given me a good laugh Punpun. Many years ago, my son and his friend won a goldfish each at the School Bazaar. I put them in a bowl in my conservatory (South facing) went out for the day and came home to find them cooked. Felt awful telling the boys. Felt even more sorry for the goldfish.

I must agree as well Punpun, there's nothing nicer than sitting in the garden on a nice warm evening and looking at the wildlife and birds that flit about even more so with a glass of wine in hand, don't get any wildlife in the garden just plenty of birds, but when I take the dog out we go through the woods so I sometimes see the local fox and deer's.

Yes, the time is of no importance when in the garden it just disappears into thin air, there's always so much to do at this time of year and never enough time to do it in but at least now the days are getting longer.

    Hi Rain,
Yes you're correct i never have enough time to do what i want to,

You said about having that evening look around the garden "glass of wine in hand"

Well since the stay in hospital, i cant stand the smell or taste of wine,
And living here in france it's drank like the english drink tea,

It may be because of all those pills, so perhaps the taste buds may recover the wine taste bit,

Having said this the english friends who have just arrived at their holiday home both gave up smoking a few years ago and the husband was telling me the only time he missed a smoke was last thing of the day.

(They're all coming round tonight for a meal and drinks, and they as a norm stay until about 1am, if any smoking past thoughts do come back it will be tonight as two other people they've not met smoke like chimnies)

    regards Punpun.
