Just spotted that the cutting of a big blue flowering clematis that I clandestinly broke off from a wall on my way home from the gym some months ago has gone from dead twig to sprouting from the pot. I am quite amazed that it has survived in a pot this rather harsh winter. The question is now
a) where to plant it.
And
b) How long till flower.
Congratulations! It's such a great feeling when you find life against all expectations.
I think you will have to wait at least a year and maybe more for flowers - could be wrong, but the young clematis I planted a couple of years ago took that sort of time to get going. But when it happens, it will be another red-letter day.
Especially when you have taken a shoot from a car park wall! I have always wanted one of the big blue ones and now I seem to have two! Bought a cassis earlier this year.
