I have an aluminnium greenhouse that is sat on breeze blocks...the problem with my greenhouse is that I cannot get the door to open and close properly on its runners..it just doesnt want to sit properly! Can anyone advise?
I was wondering if there was anyway that a different type of door that opens like a conventional door could be fitted...ie not a sliding one.
Thanks in advance for any replies

Is it top hung on wheels and bottom runner in a slot, or bottom runner on wheels and top in an aliminium 'n' shaped channel???

You may find the greenhouse isn't entirely square. Put a set square or something similar on the corners.

You may find the greenhouse isn't entirely square. Put a set square or something similar on the corners. You may be able to straighten it all up by knocking the breeze blocks gently with a rubber mallet.

Mine also was a swine to open and close. It would stick alternately top and bottom, but silicon spray on the runner wheels, trueing up the frame and marking the point of balance where a push was least likely to make it stick helped no end. Next greenhouse will have hinged doors!

My greenhouse isn't exactly square either - but try explaining that to a reluctant OH - so when the door started sticking I slapped Vaseline all along the top runner and now it's fine.

OH doesn't know it yet but the greenhouse is moving to a sunnier spot soon and then I'll make sure it's squared properly.

    Hi Debbie,
you can adjust your greenhouse door by having a look at the top slide (we're your wheels slip into) this metal strip is held on via bolt and nut and by loosening the nut a little you'll be able to lift this bar up a little so that the door runs on a level track system,

Also Debbie make sure your top wheels are mounted on to the ridge so that the wheel cant get stuck in the groove it runs along?

Wen you've done these two things (you'll need help holding the door in place while you tighten the nut "dont over tighten the nut or it will snapp off)

now use a little WD40 spray on the wheels and in the groove so the wheels have a nice slippery surface to run on.

Let us know how you get on.

    Regards punpun
