Hello
I would like to get a montana, and the main priority for me is that its is as strongly scented as possible.
The 3 that I am looking at are Miss Christine, Elizabeth and Fragrant Spring. Does anyone know which out of these are the most fragrant?
My neighbour has Elizabeth so i know that has a nice vanilla scent, but quite subtle, so something stronger would be prefrable.
I have tried calling some nuseries but none are really sure about miss christine or fragrant spring as they are relatively new and dont have big specimens.
Many thanks

Hi Rosalba,
I only grow one Montana and that's Freda due to it's smaller stature. I do believe that quite a lot of the Montana's are fragrant but 'Mayleen' is reputed to have the best fragrance.

I have this one, Clematis montana 'Wee Willie Winkie', it has a gorgeous vanilla scent, best placed next to a path. Not too rampant either.
