Hi All,
Well its sods law that when you just cant do anything in the garden for one reason or another the sun comes out all day long,
I'll to be in the hospital bed tomorrow by 3pm and so todays been spent rushing around like a headless chicken getting all sorts ready and every time i looked out of the window the garen was crying out for a few jobs tobe done "but no chance,
But i did manage to get 10 mins whilst i was in the doctors and i took the gardens world mag with me and it was allan titch, back page i was reading that really made me think,
He was talking about the 20 years the mag has been going and the loss of the two greatest gardeners who had the get up and go ref saying stop using chemicles, mr G.hamilton and mr G smith, (both dead) as i continued to read this page Allan went on to say in the next 20 years or sooner we wont be able to buy any chemicle sprays never mind use them.
It really makes you think "what have we been eating all those years when nobody stood their ground to say Stop"
Gardening really has come a long way and again as Allan titch said so many people want to be self growing but not many keep it up, a bit like all the recipe books sold "how many people who buy such books make the meals they read about regulary????????? & yet these are the best selling hobby books around.
I feel myself a lot of the younger generation will garden and are interested in what they eat,
But will we have the land for them to do such gardening or will it be only for those who are rich enough to have such spare growing spaces.
I lost my allotment due to the council's new housing plans and no where else was available or offered as a replacement ground and so some 36 people had to say goodbye to a hobby they enjoyed.
Well ive 10 days in bed to think about you all and to read up all ive not had time to read in the last couple of months,
And when i get my new hip i'll have a bit of an idea what a tree feels like after prunning wont i?
Be good and hope to talk to you all in a few weeks time.
Regards PunPun.
PS Her in doors has been given a full list of what to do and when while im away so the garden should be in good hands.
All the best - looking forward to having you back.No doubt you will be a great patient! Think of all the growth in the garden you will see when you return - hopefully not the weeds, her indoors will have it all under control!!

Yes All the Best punpun for a very successful op and speedy recovery! We will miss your lively chatter, helpful advice and interesting observations. I am sure you wont be one to skimp on the all important physio exercises after the op - if anything you might be tempted to overdo things in your eagerness to get back to working in your wonderful garden. Hopefully Her indoors will keep things ticking over nicely for you, She will prob feel she needs a holiday afterwards - OR perhaps, she might find she wants to do more on your territory in the future!!!)
Anyway we look forward to your postings when you are able - at least if your feet can't, your fingers will be able to tap tap tap away.
Best regards
Madeleine
My thoughts are with you punpun, good luck.
Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery from me too. I hope you have put the garden on "hold" for a couple of weeks! Everything is moving so fast on this side of the country....
All the best!
Logissimo

Gem - I look every day to see if he has posted. If he was over here in an NHS hospital, he would be at home by now!! He did say he would be out of action for a little while.
Keep looking!!
