    Hi All,
Well the weather here in france today has been a brass monkey day,
But having said this ive managed to be outdoors all day sorting the fruit trees (Apple & pear ones plus a few rose bush) And do you know something?
This colder weather can be a really good thing as far as getting the work done, (thermal underwear a must)

For me i find nothing worse than a very hot sweaty day and trying to do the more
heavy work that a machine can't really do and so it's a hands on job kind of work load.

I was pleased come 4pm when i had a look back at the days orchard work i'd done, ie a good bit of prune work on several large tree's and i also sprayed the trees i'd pruned and they're looking a lot better shape and i hope the fruit will have enough air/light to give me a good harvest.

Talking about the other end of the fruit season, I bought an old fruit press just right for crushing the apples, it's a really old machine and as i was looking at it i couldnt help but wonder how many tons of apples etc this little machine had crushed over the years? before it ended up sitting in a barn for christ only knows how long.

By the time the apple/pears are falling off the trees this machine will have been cleaned re-painted and working like the day it was made.

Is'nt gardening a smashing hobby to have?

Yes, and France, it seems, is the perfect place for it!
    I`m a bit jealous, punpun.

    Hi AS-iff,
Dont be, but your write this part of france is a smashing country part of france and if you like no or very little traffic not to many nieghbours, and lots of the day time to yourself? Then "yes" i would recommend it any day (even in the cold weather short days and early nights) the summer times the opposit, early to rise long evenings and long days to go with them, and plenty of gardening.
