Today was the first day i have spent in the garden since autumn.
Just trying to tidy up abit.

I didnt manage to finish what i wanted to do last autumn because time just went then bad weather arrived.

My next door neighbours have two large trees next to the fense, and their leaves make a right old mess of my garden.
So i have spent a good 2hrs raking up leaves off the grass and out of my boarders.
While in the middle of it i thought i was getting nowhere fast but now looking through the window you can tell it has been done and i am so glad.
Hopefully the weather will be dry tomorrow so i can spend an hour before work pottering.
I noticed shoots comming through from the bulbs i planted which is quite exciting. Roll on spring

Yeah, my friend said she noticed shoots poking through today. None yet in my garden though.

    Hi claire,
Hope your well and enjoying the garden,
Your bit ref over hanging trees and the leaves really took me back to when i lived next door to a retired R.A.F. man and he once asked me if i had any idea were he could buy some leaf/mold.

I was composting his falling leaves for years (It's really good stuff to rot down)

I have lots of bulbs peeking through now and a few snowdrops have appeared - very exciting. Today we took the dog over the nearby country park only to discover that the bluebells are just beginning to poke through the leaf mould on the ground !! Nan x
