id love to grow some of these in the spring from seed,ive got a boggy area witch would be perfect!, has anybody grown them from seed?do they self seed heavily? if anybody has had dealings with them in the past any information would be great! thanks

You mean Primula florindae I presume
Don't start in spring start now, get the seed in trays with fine mesh over the top of them and get them outside under as much snow and ice as you can find.
I tend to use a deeper box with multi-purpose and a good layer of grit. Then thinly sow the seed on top and water in (from the bottom). This is because I usually forget to prick them out........
Only advice I can give is grow them hard and keep them cool
If happy they will seed everywhere

Germination is much better if sown "green" ie as soon as they are ready. They go into a state of suspended animation and germination is erratic if allowed to dry out fully.
