I have bought today some lovely burgundy red Mini Cylamen (Miracle?) and put them on the steps to my garden but I wonder how hardy are they? The guy who sold them said down to -4 but I have read somewhere else that they are not that hardy. Could someone cast some light on this.
He also said this variety wouldn't self seed.

these are not very hardy , very preety though , -4 you may be lucky , mine took just below freezing , you may have seen in post on this site the mention of the more hardy ones ,these are as tough as old boots one of which is coum spring flowering , but the ones you chose make better pot subject but net a sheltered spot
