Can anyone help. I had a Verbena Homestead Purple a couple of years ago, but it didn't survive the winter. I know they're not fully hardy, so would like to grow some from seed. The strange thing is, everything I've read about them is in praise of them - and also saying they are easy from seed. But unfortunately/strangely I can't find a company selling the seed. Does anyone know where I can obtain them??
chiltern's seeds has Verbena 'Violet Profusion' which looks pretty similar
Hi figrat
Thanks for that. I've never heard of this one, but yes, it does look very much like it. If I can't find the Heavenly Purple, I'll definitely try this one.
.... oops - meant Homestead Purple !!

Hi Mister G
Thanks for that, but I have their catalogue. I order seeds from them every year. I didn't realise that they had the plants though, so I will contact them.

glad to help any time ,
You certainly did. Having looked at their website I've decided to order the plants from them. I'm still going to e-mail them though, to ask why they (or anyone else) don't sell the seed.

if buy the plants one year you could collect the seeds this and every year, then you will always have some
That's my intention.
I take cuttings from my Verbena 'Homestead' - they root really easily - just pop them into a pot of compost !
Meant to say 'Homestead Purple' !

Thanks Lilylouise. Someone mentioned this to me a little while ago. I've actually ordered the plants now from Fothergills, so will definitely try that next year.
