A couple yrs. ago I decided to order my seeds earlier. The reason being the long wait with T&M. This year I've dropped them altogether. Ordered from a company here in Canada that I've been using for a few years. Seeds come within a week. I'm also trying a company in South Carolina. Their e mail says they have shipped them out so I expect the seeds will arrive this week. I'm getting more and more requests from neighbours etc. for my plants in the spring. I have for the first time received requests for me to put together hanging basket arrangements. Any suggestions on plants that would really pop in basket arrangements would be welcomed. I've ordered a lot more wave petunia seeds and emerald and silver falls. Oh, and of course one of my favourites, ivy geraniums.

Hi mister-grow-it-all, thanks for reminding me about bizzy lizzies. Grew them a couple yrs. ago in a huge bowl shaped pot. They looked great. I meant to look for the double blooms for spring. Proven Winners put out some called rockapulco, I think it is. Of course they own the rights, so one can't buy seeds. Yes I grow everything from seed except for a certain variety of geranium that I take cuttings. I shut my greenhouse down in the winter so that's all I really have space for. My 3 tiered plant rack I need for germination and seedlings until about March. Thanks again.

Hi John moodie,
here's an idea for your hanging baskets i did this year "more as a joke for a visitor i have than anything else"
But it went down a bomb and so have a think about it yourself!
try hanging tomatos in one of your hanging baskets?
They look good, taste smashing and are different.

Hi punpun, that's actually a terrific idea for the elderly couple across my alley. They want 4 baskets from me in the spring. I supplied them with two Tomato plant last spring and they neglected them a bit. They love tomatoes and the baskets are hung close to their back door and won't suffer from neglect. Thanks very much.

John, do you have that little lilac daisy-type flower called felicia, where you live? It looks lovely in baskets. You could also try some herb baskets.
Have fun,
Summer

I like bacupa and million bells, also had some trailing begonias in a couple of my baskets this year, they looked great and are still flowering.

Hi John
I also grow trailing begonias. They are just beautiful. Being lucky enough to have a large greenhouse, I have been able to bring in my begonia baskets, which are still in flower, but the good thing about them is you don't even need a greenhouse, to keep them. I've had some for years, by saving the corms. They just get bigger and bigger, and consequently produce more flowers.
But I realise that, unlike the begonia corms, they do need greenhouse space.

Hi Summer. I googled felicia. It would look nice in pots and baskets. The two seed companies I use don't carry them. Of course after saying I'm not using T&M anymore, their catalogue arrived yesterday. They don't carry them either. I'll keep looking.

Hi nanpickle, I have to agree with the bacupa and million bells. I grew the lilac coloured bacupa for the first time. One little basket of them looks so nice I haven't had the heart to toss them yet, so it's hanging in the greenhouse till I shut it down. Trailing begonias? Are they fibrous or tubers?
