Finally got round to cleaning the patio area up but need some ideas for plants to go in pots. The patio is north facing and only a little bit of it gets some direct sunlight for a couple of hours a day.
I would like some annuals as well as evergreens so there is some interest all year round. I'm not really fussed what colour as long as the place is brightened up!
these chaps have great selections...
i have astilbes, hostas and ferns in pots either side of the front door, they look great in spring and summer but now need moving to die down for the winter. also camelia (evergreen) looks great all year and mine has been living in the same pot for many years. japanese maples, stipa lessingiana is a great grass for shade (mine are from seed) ajuga reptans, primulas, tiarella,... the list is endless
