It's a funny old world gardening ie we just plod along year after year without really being noticed when it comes to fads,

Let me explain a bit more, I was watching the news and all this amazing shock ref the weather "OCTOBER WEATHER" and the ryder golf match,

As a ball entered the hole the U.S.A golfer would jump up and down and raise their hands and give it five (for those like me who are a little older and may not know what giving it five is????
It's raising your hand in time with one of your team mates and smacking hell out of others hand!

And then the football players who score a goal pull their shirts over the head and drop to their knees as they skid across the playing field
(Im sure the grounds staff squirm when they see all their efforts ripped to pieces in seconds)

Well what the U.S.A. do today we'll do tomorrow,
can you imagen you've just seen the first Daff in your garden and you pull your bib and brace overall's over your head and go skidding across your lawn???? THE NEIGHBOURS reaction would be worth seeing im sure,

Or everytime you killed a slug you and the wife gave each other a high five slap?

No im glad we gardeners dont really keep up with the "FADS":

Oh Punpun, you have me in stitches smiley - laugh. I too thought tonight when I saw the shinnenigans on the TV how times have changed. All this 'gimme 5', hugging and back slapping really gets on my nerves and it seems the norm these days. Perhaps next time I meet one of my friends in the street, instead of just greeting him/her, I will say 'gimme 5' and throw myself at them. I think they would promptly call an ambulance!

Anyone who watches doubles tennis, will know that high-fiving is mandatory after every rally.

I expect you'd like some tips:

"A successful high-five requires close co-ordination between initiator and his or her partner. In order to execute a proper high-five, both participants should focus their eyes on the incoming elbow of the other. Once the vision is locked, each participant promptly moves the arm forward in a slightly descending motion to make contact. Success is indicated by the degree to which the telltale slapping sound creates resonance; a louder, "cleaner" sound indicative of maximum surface area of each hand contacting the other indicates a better high-five. While frequent high-five partners often develop a familiarity and do not require this technique, it is suggested both to high-five beginners and to experienced high-fivers who are beginning to high-five with a new partner." smiley - erm

Far more suitable for gardeners are hand-trowels, clashed, back-to-back at 45 degrees.

And, I believe that one is also supposed to shout 'huzzah':

So, resounding clash of trowels, Huzzah!

Yes "thats it" Thats what we gardeners should do from now on "Clash trowels held above our heads and shout "RHUBARB RHUBARB" when we do something out of the norm, (like find snails making love having ate all our lettuce.

Well i'll finish hear for tonight and wish you all a very good "RHUBARB RHUBARB" night.
